How to clean eye shadow

Have you ever thought about how to clean eye shadow from your eyes? Simply washing your face does not always get the job done.  If you already have some eye makeup remover you can place the remover on a cotton pad, then hold the cotton pad over your eye for several seconds then wipe the makeup. It removes the makeup almost effortlessly. Another item that can be used if you do not have makeup remover are baby wipes. Although they are for baby, the wipes are gentle enough to remove makeup without clogging your pores.

One thing you have to look out for are removers that contain alcohol. You do not want to use a remover or baby wipes that contain alcohol any where near your eyes!

If you don’t like the risk of getting these liquids in your eyes, you can also use petroleum jelly— it will take your makeup off instantly (all makeup, not just eye makeup). Use a small amount on a cotton swab.

Alternatively, you could try using small amounts of olive oil. Dab a bit of oil on a piece of tissue or cotton ball and gently ease over your eyelid. The makeup will instantly disappear.

If worse comes to worse, just take a small drop of your unscented lotion and rub over your lids. Try not to get the lotion in your eye, so have your eyes closed while you do this.

You may also use the HydraMitt, which is a microfiber mitt that removes eye makeup in seconds by only using warm water. It’s also very gentle on your eyes and will not scratch your skin like your typical microfiber cloth.

If you’re applying eyeliner and smudge it (but have no shadow on), you can take a Q-Tip and get some water or lotion on it. Use it to correct a pencil slip.

Vaseline is a miracle worker on eyeshadow, so if you don’t like liquids or are worried it might sting, just put it on, then take tissue or something and wipe it off. It comes off immediately.
